->> I am only posting this for your info. I just visited a local Ritz camera store that is closing. They still have a number of items in stock. For instance, they had a Nikon 24-120mm lens that sells for $679 for $520.
It is worth a look! |

->> They generally bring in a liquidator who in turn lists items at the manufacturer's suggested retail price and then takes the percentages off.
I saw a sign today for a Ritz Camera closing and things being 50% off. I believe its a location in Columbus on Lane Avenue west of Ohio State. I may have to stop in this week after work just to take a look. |

->> I went in there last week, and the 50 percent off prices are effectively just $50 off the regular B&H prices.
Not much of a deal at all. |

->> They are selling their printers and processing equipment as well. That equipment is evidently not going through the liquidator. I just got a very nice used Epson 7800 poster printer from their Bethlehem PA store for $500. We tried two other stores in LI and NJ before we found one that had not already been sold.
Call the store in your area and see what they have available. |

What's wrong with saving $50? At the price of the lens Rich quoted, for example, that's nearly 10% off of B&H's price. |

->> Nothing wrong with saving $50, but the signage leads you to believe that the savings will be much more.
Also, since all sales are final, savings $50 means that you have to send the lens/camera/etc back to the manufacturer if there is something wrong.
By shopping locally, or at B&H, you have an advocate if something is DOA. |

| ->> FYI - I picked up a new in box Sigma 2x TC DG for $120 and a 10" Quantaray digital frame for $80. (Even the cheap 8" digital frames at WalMart run around $129 or better.) They had a Leica C3 35mm P&S for $100 too that still retails for over $200 (wherever you can find them). I passed on the Leica (put off by cheap plastic feel and the "Made in China" sticker), but thought the other items were heavily discounted and a fairly good deal. Toss in a $150 gift card and I made out like a bandit. Once the store truly hit the 50-80% mark everything flew off the shelves. The sales guy behind the counter indicated warehouses were clearing out old inventory to stores that were shutting down just to move the items. There were some decent older stock 4-6MP Panasonic Lumix P&S's for around $39. I tried not to get caught up in buying things unnecessarily. It was tough. |

| ->> I know someone who went to one of the Ritz stores here and picked up a 24mm f2.8 for about 115.00. He's got a 24-70mm already, but if he put that up for sale, he could get more than what he paid for the lens. |

| ->> FYI, I just checked two local Ritz stores and found a Nikon EL4a battery for $52.50 and a hard to find Nikon SC-28 TTL cord for $16.20. Most cameras and lenses are gone, but you can find deals on batteries and accessories. |
