->> Anyone know how to restore an iPhone, when this error pops up "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6)."
I have tried to restore my iPhone now on two laptops, using two different cords, using 4 different USB ports. The USB cord logo & iTunes logo popped up while it was in use! |

One guy had luck by opening and closing iTunes a couple times. Another found it to be a hardware problem. Take it to an Apple Store if possible or call AppleCare.

->> Apple has agreed to overnight me a new one, although I am a few months out of warranty.
Very helpful once we chatted about the number of Macs on my desk I had been trying and that I write a weekly iPhone App of the week series which gets significant traffic. I mentioned the series is posted every Thursday and the manager asked if I'd like one overnighted, at no fee, so it would be in my hands Thursday for this weeks App of the week.
Essentially the whole phones OS appears to have corrupted while I was in the middle of a call! |

->> Prelo,
Ummm...nope, I was upstairs in my house, standing next to my dresser looking for a pen.
(old man humour...is thee anything worse than old man humour?) :0) |

->> Fish,
When you truly get old, you will eventually remember that pens are in the junk drawer in the kitchen.
Small holiday gifts go in the dresser. |

->> Prelo,
Turns out the pen I was searching for was actually clipped to the inside of the cargo pocket, of the right leg of my pants. I knew I had seen it, I just thought I saw it on the dresser, when I had already stuck it where it is supposed to be after I get dressed.
Its like looking for your glasses when they are on top of your head (of course you never do that...right?) |

->> Wow! Apple's customer service went further than I expected.
They replaced my out of warranty iPhone at no fee, overnighted it at no fee...and it should have shipped today to be received tomorrow, but the customer service manager moved my order from Texas to California so it would shit yesterday (I missed the shipping deadline for Texas) and it arrived at 9:17am this morning! |

if it did do that yesterday you must have a beta version of the 3.0 firmware because the current version is limited to urination. |

->> Brian,
Are you referring to the 3g?
3.0 is good, its still buggy, but awesome. I've been running it for about a month now and love it. I doubt apple sent Steven a 3g, as they usually have many iphone OG's to send out as replacements. |
