->> One of my PW's, a transceiver is killing batts.
I turn it off-with some fresh batts and days later its dead, I tried 2 sets of rechageables and its rendering those DEAD, as in cant even charge them, I just put some AA's that were in the PW, into the charger and it says NULL meaning they are dead-unchargeable.
I know I need to send it in, remove batteries after I use them, etc...but any quick ideas? leaving for a trip tomm and have no time to get it fixed. |

->> My old transmitter does this. It has some corrosion and it only works some times.
I guess I need to send it in. |

->> PocketWizards can kill batteries, but batteries can also kill PocketWizards.
PocketWizard Plus receivers can get fried if the batteries die while the units are still on. I lost three receivers to this phenomenon, and since that day I always take the batteries out when I return the receivers to their travel case. It is an inconvenience, but it is a lot less trouble then sending them in for repair.
These were repaired at no cost, but this is a crazy design flaw for a product that is often described as The Industry Standard. Even an $8 iron from Wal-Mart has an automatic shut off circuit. |

| ->> I have never had this problem. I've always used Costco batteries in mine, never rechargeable ones. Definitely sounds like an issue with that 1 wizard though. |

| ->> I totally agree Michael. I lost a PW at work last week to corrosion. And when I got home, I discovered one of my own PWs had corrosion. Second time around, I got lucky. My personal PW didn't get killed by it. |
