->> I have said it before and I will say it again, I don't know who they think is going to be left to produce the product they are trying to sell. They keep cutting the people that produce the paper, the paper quality goes down, readers stop buying the paper. And those who are left certainly don't feel like giving 100% to a company that could cut them loose any day now. Moral is low. It is a vicious cycle.
If local coverage is the savior of the small to mid size papers, they need more people to be in the neighborhoods and cover the local issues. I see these start up websites covering local sports and while they maybe able to get away with average stories, and box scores, the photos are downright terrible. People shooting HS games with point and shoot cameras and posting entire takes of blurry, bad color images. I don't think that is the way to win consumers.
