->> Hello everyone. I wanted to let everyone know- especially you folks who live in the New York area- that my good friend Robert Seale and I are traveling to Cooperstown, New York next week on Friday, April 17 to present our work during the first annual “Photography Education Day” at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
We are putting together two shows- one on the history of baseball photography featuring images from Charles Conlon, Walter Iooss, John G. Zimmerman, Hy Peskin, V.J. Lovero, Chuck Solomon, John Iacono, Rich Pilling, Ozzie Sweet and others.
Our other show will feature our work covering the game of baseball, through Seale's amazing portraits and my action stuff.
This program is free with admission to the museum. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Full details are here on the HOF website:

Neither of us have ever been to the Hall, so needless to say we are VERY excited about this amazing opportunity the nice folks in Cooperstown are giving us.
It would be fun to see some friendly faces in the crowd if anyone is around! |

->> Brad,
Congrats! I'm really excited for you and Robert. Wish I could be there.
Enjoy it. It sounds like a FANTASTIC time.
For some reason, this quote popped into my head. Sort of sums up how I feel about baseball:
"Do you know what we get to do today Brooks? We get to play baseball." - Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid) in The Rookie (2002)
I fly back from Washington DC Monday afternoon and have a business meeting in Minneapolis Tuesday morning. You know what that means? I get to sneak off to catch the Twin Monday night... :)
Again, congrats to you and the one and only Mr. Seale. |

Now if i can convince 2 baseball games, a golf tournament and drag racing to all cancel that day, I'd come. |

->> Congrats to you both for the opportunity. Wish I could make it up there myself, but we'll be in the middle of toting our newborn daughter around for the family to see for the first time.
I went to Cooperstown twice last year while I was a student at Syracuse. I'm sure this goes without saying, but please be sure to make time for yourself to just be a fan while you're there. I swear you'll feel like a kid again, it's that magical. Have you ever seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Well you're about to know how Charlie felt.
It's not just the Hall either. The entire town is built around baseball, and it's really something to see. You'd be hard pressed to find a more Norman Rockwell-esque village, so keep the camera handy (duh).
I know you've probably heard all this stuff before, but I'd feel a bit guilty if I didn't chip in my two cents about how wonderful the place is, especially for baseball fans like us. I mean, I have physically touched the actual Apollo 11 space suit Neil Armstrong wore when he stepped foot on the moon and made his monumental "small step" quote, but I got bigger chills around nearly every corner while I was at the Hall (especially the plaque room, oh boy...). It truly is a magical place, so just enjoy being a kid again, if but for only a few days, and have fun while you're there! |

->> Being a lifetime Jim Rice fan, when I saw this I thought I was going to be speaking at his induction. Imagine my disappointment when I found out it's the other Seale.
Congratulations on this incredible opportunity. I wish I were closer and able to attend. |

| ->> Okay, if there are any Rochester area SS members, or members who would have to pass through here to get to Cooperstown, who are interested in going - can we set up a ride share? I'd be happy to drive, and happier to have some fellow photogs join me for the trip! Email me through my SS page - or better yet, call me - and let's meet up! |
