->> I think everyone is hurting for ad money and will do whatever it takes to make money. Our local newspaper has ads on the front page from time to time.

->> Best line of the article:
"What am I supposed to do, go down there and drag the editor on the street like Sonny Corleone and beat him up on the streets of Broadway?" Sid Holt, chief executive of ASME, said. "We work in a collegial business, and we're not the advertising police."

What can I say? "Paging Mr. Corloene..paging Mr. Corleone.."

->> me personally, I would tattoo a company's name across my A$$ if it would secure my income for the next year. Whether they would want to use that space is up to them.

Am I a sell out, nope.

Do I want to make sure my family is happy and has the best things in life, you bet.

So, should business's use the same thought, why not. money is money, I don't see it lying on the ground for me to take. So if someone wants to pay big bucks to place an add over Many R's face, do it. It's keeping people working.

It's amazing the things people do to advertise. I have a local clothier who sells Robert Graham & Roar dress shirts. I made him a deal where he supplies my with two shirts a year. In return at the weddings I do, I give out his business card to anyone who asks where I get my shirts from. People always ask and when they get the BC, there is a 10% referral discount on it. I probably give away 10-15 cards a wedding. I also have a local limo company who has a Porsche 911. When they aren't using it, guess who is, me. It's great advertising for them, especially at weddings where the client is using another limo company.

I think I am going to call WM right now to see if they are interested in some space where I previously mentioned.

->> So putting an ad on the cover/front page is different than putting ads on the inside or the back cover of the publication? I don't see the big deal.

Now if the cover is an ad that is made to look like a cover story (like those advertorial sections in some publications), then I'd say that's deceiving. But if it's clearly an ad (like this fold out flap), it's not a big deal to me.
