| ->> The RAW part of the Daguerreotype was the fixing part of the process which used cyanide of potassium. Potentially deadly if your not careful. This process did not last long when the glass wet plate process was invented. Wet plate ambrotype, (glass plate) and ferrotype,(aka tintype) was a faster and less costly process. Their are not very many Daguerreotypes left and any that have some historical value are going at a prime. |
