->> Hey Guys

I’m shooting a photo tonight tethered with the D3 and wondered what do I need to know? Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Scott

->> Hi Scott,

Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 will work. It's a free download with a 30 day trial. After it's like $169 at BH photo.

I shoot tethered quite a lot and prefer it for any situation where I am in the studio.

Lightroom can be used to shoot tehthered but it is a little more complex than mentioned above. Here is a link to a tutorial on how to do it:

As mentioned in the article, Camera Control Pro 2 is used instead of Canon Capture to direct captures to the watch folder from which Lightroom will import them. Although this works well, it is a little on the slow side. Aperture can be used to tether Nikon cameras without intermediary software. Although I haven't tested it yet, Capture 1 Four supposedly can now be used to tether Nikon cameras. It is expensive but I hope it works faster then the Lightroom/Camera Control Pro method. Also, Capture 1 is currently the industry standard for tethered capture and has some nice features.
