->> Ben I know NOTHING about Apple or Mac's but had the same problem with Windows. The only solution was to go to the RIM website and d/l an older version of the RIM Desktop Manager. My Vista laptop was able to run 4.7 (the current version) but my XP desktop will only run 4.2.
Version 5.0 is rumored to come out this week in conjuction with the roll out of RIM's App Store. |

->> I don't have the Storm, but use the Bold. I'd guess that the software is the same for the Storm. I sync everything with Google Sync for Blackberry (free), and a Google account. It syncs my contacts and calendars over the air. I then use OSX's Address Book and its built in sync feature to Google. For calendars, I use iCal and its built in CalDAV integration for my Google calendars.
Everything is free and syncs wirelessly. I much prefer this to Missing Sync and PocketMac. |

I want to sync the cal and address book, as well as add music to it. |

->> Ben-
My solution works for the cal and address book. As for adding music, can't you just load up the SD card via an external card reader?
Google Sync: http://www.google.com/mobile/blackberry/sync.html (forgot link in previous post). |

->> Ben-
For Address Book: open the app, hit Prefs, General. At the bottom, look for the checkbox "Synchronize with Google", and fill in your info. I've seen various links that say the box only appears if you've previously sync'ed an iphone with your computer, but I don't believe I've ever hooked an iphone to mine and I have the Google Sync option.
For iCal, see this link: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=99358#ica...
OSX 10.5+ is needed, but you mention you're already running this. Hope this works for you! |

->> Ben,
I wanted to use something reliable that I could trust. My contacts because of my clients are so important that I have them backed up on 3 computers. I tried the RIM program they offer on the Blackberry site for MAC users that wasn't very reliable.
I trust this program (Missing Sync) and the bluetooth feature is excellent.
I can't speak on any of the other programs that are listed other than the RIM program. I don't know your budget, but for the reliability aspect. If I were you, I'd invest in Missing Sync.
But I've never had a problem, so I can't speak for everyone. I may do a search on CNET to see what others are saying about this program. Take care.... |

->> Ben, run your software updates. I've seen that happen before. Software update usually fixes it. I have missing sync, but the Google option works much better.
Also look for blackberry mediasync for mac for transferring music.
