| ->> They will probably charge the usual 30$ for tethering access but it would be nice if it was lower! Ive been tethering since day one of the 3.0beta release and so far so good. Just received my latest bill and no extra charges. The way the iphone connects is great!! as simple as connecting to a regular wireless network or even simplier, just plug in the usb. goodbye verizon card |

| ->> I've been tethering with a 3G iPhone on Rogers at 2.2 and jailbroken with iPhoneModem for quite a while now. Rogers doesn't see it as any different from on-phone browsing and no extra charges. |

->> Tethering has been working great. I tested it yesterday and it worked pretty well over wi-fi and fairly good over 3g.
Anyone else put 3.0 on yet? |

IPhones bricked after non-developers try to upgrade to 3.0 beta

Iphone bricked
The word "brick" has many meanings. For a mason, it's the building block. For basketball players, it's used to describe the sound of a badly missed shot. And for iPhone owners who tried to sneak an early copy of the developers-only beta software, it means that their $300-smartphone has been reduced to an expensive paperweight.

->> Bert,
That's what happens when people aren't going about it the right way. I'm testing the new OS with a developer right now. No brick for me thankfully. I did have to restart my phone once today as it was lagging while using it pretty bad. But other than that, no other issues. |

->> I wonder what AT&T will charge for data on teathering? I'm getting dinged for $40 for my iPhone data now...
The bigger issue is how the increased useage on their network will affect service...which is not the greatest now. |
