->> McNally's new book "The Hot Shoe Diaries" is about to hit the bookstores. Its all on using small hot shoe flashes. He is a Nikon guy so it is slanted to that gear but as a Canon user I still plan to get one.
So Mr. McNally, any signed copies available for a fellow sportshooter :-) |

| ->> I LOVE Joe's last book "The Moment it Clicks". I have to admit, as someone who only uses flash when FORCED to, I doubt this book will be for me :-) |

->> My preorder has shipped yesterday from Amazon. There is more to the book than flashes. There are a lot of great points to pull from in between the lines.
For example in The Moment it Clicks, the part about being human as a photographer. Sometimes we miss this! The "I have to get this shot come hell or high water!" attitude and then looking over at someone in a lesser position than you and remembering, "It was his Pope!".
I live by this a lot in the way I treat people and other photographers. This is just me though and what I pulled out of his first book. Yes I may not get the jubilation shot of this game or that game, but there are always more games ahead. I can't wait to see what his second book has to offer.

| ->> I got a message from Amazon that said my pre-ordered copy was shipped out yesterday, so they're in the pipeline. Looking forward to another book from a stellar writer and teacher, and all-around nice guy. McNally jump-started my interest in multiple speedlight shoots a few years back, when I was lucky enough to attend a workshop he taught. Now I'm hooked on that style of location shooting, thanks to McNally's workshop. Gotta figure this book will be a winner. |

->> I flew up to New York for a day-long workshop with Joe on lighting in January. Easily the best money I have ever spent to take my photography to the next level.
Joe is a great guy. He is humorous, takes the time to answer dumb questions from idiots (bearded guy in the red shirt on the left) and really cares about you and your development as a photographer.
If you get the opportunity to go to one of his workshops, I highly recommend it. |

->> Monty,
$23 for the book is indeed a great deal, but hopefully you've got another grand or so budgeted because after reading it your not going to be able to resist buying a few more speedlights.
I ended up with four SB-900's, two SC-29 cords and the SU800 unit all because of that book LOL |
