->> Chuck,
There is no editing featured for the snapshots. In a pinch you can do a search of your hard drive for "*.snap" files. The files reside in a hidden folder called Application Data. The file path would be "c:Documents and Settings..Application DataCamera Bits,IncPhoto MechanicIPTCDialogSettings". The "..." equals the name of the user folder the program is stored.

->> If you go to the Preferences and remove the com.camerabits.plist it will clean out all the preferences. If you SAVE that plist in a seperate folder, you can later re-install it if needed.
On a MAC, it is USER, HOME, LIBARY,PREFFERENCES, deletecom.Camerabits.plist.
Photomechanic should be CLOSED while you do this, otherwise it will make a new plist |

->> The folder on a Mac is not hidden.
Ready for this:
User folder>
Library>
Preferences>
com.camerabits.PhotoMechanic>
IPTCDialogSettings>
They're all in there. Delete at will. Easy, huh. |

->> The easier route is to hold down the "Option" key while clicking on the item under the lighting bolt. This will cause the OS to open the folder containing the items with the one you clicked highlighted for deletion.
This works for any of the "lightning bolt" menus under the various dialog windows within Photo Mechanic. |

->> This is why you have to love Camera Bits. Kirk Baker, their lead programmer, dropped me a quick email explaining how to edit the snapshots. Kevin Cox' instructions for the Mac are spot on. If you are a PC user, you hold down the shift key instead. Here is what Mr. Baker wrote:
"That's not true though getting at the snapshot files through
Photo Mechanic is not obvious. On Windows, if you hold down the Shift key while you select one of the Snapshots, a Windows Explorer window will come forward with the Snapshot selected. You can then rename, copy, delete, etc. the file.
On the Mac, users would instead hold down the Option key while choosing a Snapshot. This would cause a Finder window to come forward with the Snapshot selected. The user could then rename, copy, delete, etc. the file." |
