->> TRYING to do a little movie and use real editing software. Seems like there was a trick to importing sill photos into iMovie in filename or capture order but I can't figure it out. I looked at google on iMovie for 6.0 as well as iLife 08. No luck! What am I missing????
Trying to break the soundslides habit... thanks, patrick |

->> My experience using iMovie for slideshows has never been good. For some reason iMovie does not do a very good job rendering the files and the quality is not nearly as good as using Final Cut or Photo To Movie.
I've tried all sorts of output options and the QT file has never been as good as the quality if authored in FC.
The latest version of iMovie is a mess in my opinion.
Good luck. |

->> As to your question:
How are you importing the files into iMovie? Throught iMovie itself?
I believe if you arrange and import the files through iPhoto that might do the trick.
When you write "use a real software" iMovie doesn't quite qualify. Obviously is will work but there are limitations and quality issues.
After putting on over 15 workshops and other events through the years, I've used them all and FCP is by far the best option (and the most costly). |

| ->> I have had the same problem before and I believe if you go back to iphoto and arrange them the way you want (under view menu) you'll be okay. You may have to re-import them to imovie again and get rid of the old out-of-order ones. |

->> Can't you just drag the files into iMovie? It seems like that's the way I've done it the last few movies I've done. But mine were all renamed files in a sequential order.
Dump the files in a folder. Open said folder in Bridge. Rearrange them in whatever order you want. Batch rename (pat01.jpg, pat02.jog). Then drag the images from the folder to your iMovie project. Of course, I don't know, that may be exactly what you're doing with iPhoto... I refuse to try to figure iPhoto out and have only played with it a handful of frustrating times. |
