Lost file info in photoshop

->> I've run into this problem twice now and was wondering if anyone might know what's going on.

After making edits to photos I get all the caption info together and drop it into the photo file info. Now after not going through the photos for a while the info is missing. I no it was stored there, because I've used it before, but now it is going.

Does anyone know what to do, or have a better way of storing my caption info?

->> 1) What version(s) of PhotoShop are you using to save and then go back to see photos?

2) What field(s) in the File Info dialog are you using to store caption info?

->> I have had stuff like that happen with PhotoShop Elements on my backup computer, but not on the full version.

Do the other fields like Owner and Copyright stay intact?

I think you'll be better off if you write your captions in Bridge anyway. Bridge makes it far easier to make batch additions and edits to all the IPTC fields, as well as to copy and paste common caption information between images. Just make sure you click the little checkmark to save the data to all the files or you could lose all the edits.

The changes you make to your RAW files in Bridge will carry over to your final jpgs, but you can easily go back in Bridge to verify that the captions are still in the final jpg files.
