->> I may be a little late on getting this out, but I was just made aware of this update which vastly improved my uploading speed. Here's the link to the update. Have a GREAT day!

| ->> Thanks for the info. I thought it was just my computer that kept locking up whenever auto white balance was selected. |

... this update is well tested but would benefit from additional community testing before it is distributed automatically to all of our customers." |

->> "release candidate"? Sounds suspiciously like a beta to me... and has no one learned their lesson on Adobe betas?? My 2.0 version is running fine and I'm not going to fix it if it ain't broke.
Don't forget, it wasn't so long ago that version 1.4 was released and they pulled it back and gave you 1.3.1. Lightroom is a great program, but Adobe has not yet learned how to release updates and betas. Go slow on installing updates, and just say no to betas from Adobe. It's a sad situation, and additionally sad for a huge company with tremendous products like Adobe, but you can't ignore the past. And those who ignore past history with this company are running down the street with their eyes closed. |

| ->> Well it fixed my problem and I guess I will cross my fingers that it doesn't shut down my system, but my imports were taking like 45 minutes to an hour to upload images on my IMac. Since I installed 2.0 I haven't been able to do any editing on my IMac because it took so long to import RAW images and almost the same time to upload completed JPEG files for cataloging. The Adobe folks weren’t any help either which basically rendered Lightroom useless on my IMac and that was the only reason I brought the machine was to do home editing. I was contemplating on switching to Aperture because the free 30 day version I downloaded off the Apple site worked flawless. I’ll let you know if anything bad happens, but so far it’s worked perfectly and have fixed my problems. |

->> I think this RC has been out for a while now. I believe I had this a week or so ago.
Imports still take quite long which is kinda annoying. When using photo mechanic they are quick, not sure why LR2 are so slow.

| ->> Are the slow uploads primarily with Macs? Mine isn't setting speed records on my PC, but I don't consider it slow. I shoot all RAW and my file sizes are around 8 to 10 megs... |

->> Hello all,
My very first post to SS as a new member! I've lurked here forever so, thought I better pony up.
I'm using LR 1.4 and I really only use it to sort images by keywords, labels or rating. Problem is, I tried to sync my folders the other day and it kept crashing so, I gave up. Then I thought I'd just upgrade to the 2.X under the assumption that this would fix whatever problem I'm having.
Remembering the last time I upgraded to a new Adobe product and the horrible customer service I had there, thought maybe I'd try Aperture instead so, downloaded the trial.
My question is this, can anybody recommend the best way to manage an image archive so that I can sort by labels, ratings and keywords entered in bridge? I have a pretty large archive and have found them all to be slow, buggy and just plain bad. I'm happy with bridge/cs3 and really don't want to use another program to process images but, I cant sort my whole archive in Bridge so, anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks |

| ->> I installed the 2.1 update and my import of raw files improved dramatically - maybe 3 times faster than before. I'm on an imac with 4 gb ram. No issues with the new install that I've noticed. |
