Nikon D90 RAW not yet supported in PhotoShop CS3

->> I just got my D90 today and it is quite amazing for the price! I thought I would pass along that the latest 4.5 Camera Raw plug-in for PhotoShop and LightRoom does not support the Nikon D90. The Mac OS does not yet support it either in Preview. Nikon View NX will read and convert the files with limited adjustments. Nikon Capture NX will not read them either. I cannot confirm whether Nikon Capture NX 2 will read the files. My trial of that software expired last month.
If anyone has any more info on which programs other than Nikon View NX can open D90 Raw files, please let me know. View NX works okay for me for the time being. |

| ->> If Adobe's pattern holds true, CS3 wont ever support the new cameras RAW files. They will force you to upgrade to CS4. Good strategy or extortion, you make the call.... |

| ->> Depends on when CS4 comes out. It's supposed to be announced Sept 24. Is that when it ships? I kind of half expect another CS3/ACR update to make it compatible to the new cameras being announced at Photokina. If CS4 is released before the cameras, then Damon is right, we've seen the last of the CS3 updates. |

->> Rich,
Totally unrelated to the RAW issue...have you had any chance to do a side by side comparison of D300 files with what you get out of your D90? |

| ->> Though not ideal, there is a work-around. When Adobe does support the raw format (and if they make it CS4 only) download the latest DNG converter. It has the camera raw plug-in included, and convert to DNG. Then open in any version of photoshop from CS upward. DNG converter is a standalone application and it is free. |
