Since my purchase was an upgrade, can I trash the old version of NX on my computer? I switched my Photo Mechanic preferences to launch my NEFS in Capture NX2. It won't happen. No matter what I do, the images continue to open in Capture NX. I post the PM problem question also on the PM's board. Being the weekend and all, I thought I might get some help here. Try going to an image file in a Windows folder, right click on the image file, click on "properties" and then click on "change" and tell it to use NX2 to open these file types. I am posting the solution in case anyone ever has the same problem. I assigned a specific editor to edit specific file types (NEFS for me) a long time ago. So ... even though I listed NX2 it was still using the assigned editor. How to fix it. Click on the "Set..." button that is on the right side of the Launching tab. It follows the text that reads "Assign specific editing applications for each file type:" Use that dialog to either clear the current assignment for NEF files, or choose Capture NX2 for your NEF files.
