| ->> Can anyone give me a ballpark going rate price for a used Mark IIn w/ 120,000 shots on it? I am looking at one and want to make sure the price is right. Thanks! |

| ->> Does it have the original shutter? Has it been serviced regularly by CPS? |

| ->> I am not sure. And I am pretty sure the seller doesn't know either. They told me that it had less than 50,000 shots on it, but when I checked a photo on PM, it told me just under 120,000. Maybe that means the shutter has been replaced without the counter being reset? I don't know. I know that it has been for sale and on a shelf for at least 6 months at a camera shop (Midwest Photo) here in Columbus. |

->> Jason-
We currently have two on our site, one at $2774, and one at $3174. I do not know the quantity of actuations, but that should give you some sort of feel of what they are selling for used.

->> I bought one off of craiglist for $1,750 with under 20,000 actuations in near mint condition with all accessories.
Most I've seen for sale (Fred Miranda buy/sell) are in the $2,200 - $2,500 range. |

->> Jason, I'm headed over there this afternoon... I'll ask Stew about it and get some details for you... And let you know what I think would be a fair price...

->> Hey, I would say that around $1800 would be a fair price. I got the serial # off of it to ask CPS if it has had the shutter replaced. I haven't done that yet.
However, everything worked fine, all of the functions seemed operable...The body looks like it has been used but I didn't see any cracks in the casing. I didn't think to look at the price while I was there but I just checked thier web site and it is going for $1898.00 online. I would think regardless if you needed to replace the shutter in a couple of weeks... This would be a fair price. A new shutter costs around $350-$400. So you would still be getting the body for less than the average used MK IIN bodys are selling on Ebay.
Just a thought. You are the one who gets to make the final decision.

| ->> Thanks, Walt for checking it out for me. I actually shot with this very camera last weekend at the Tour de Grandview and it felt pretty good. But that doesn't mean that it won't stop firing a day after I buy it. I may take a chance on it. I certainly feel better about it having used it myself and now with your feedback, I really feel pretty good about it. Thanks again! |

->> On the price:
I sold two f them a little over a week ago and I sold them for $2K each!!
On the actuattions:
This is weird, My first Body that blew a shutter, had 165K Acutations, I got a new shutter last December, the count on PM continued growing. The really funny thing is that I saved the settings of this camera onto a card, and loaded them onto a new camera, guess what happened?? My Like-NEW Camera started counting on PM at 172K actuations!! YUP, it transfered the actuations onto my Like-NEW MKIIn, I know, prior to installing the settings, this body was counting around 4K Actuations!! |

->> Loading settings from one IDMII body to another will change the actuation registers at least as far as CanCount and PM will report. There could be another register in the body that only Canon can read.
If you download SI's preferred 1DMIIN settings to a card & then load them into a camera, it will change the actuation count to 476. Apparently SI used a near-new body to write the file.

& click on the red 'FILE' to download the settings.
