->> Well it's racing season once again and this year i have taken on the role of Managing Photo Editor-O Boy. We are shooting the Long Beach Grand Prix this coming weekend and i have been asked to find a online photo database to upload to. In the past we just submitted our images to the editor but this time i am in charge with no direction. What i am hoping to find in this short of time is what are the rest of you guys using and is there something i can put together rather fast to get us going. I am mac savvy but not to much into the coding. We need to upload to a service/server for the rest of the editors to download from. Nothing fancy just straight up easy is what i am looking for.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the memories Champ Car. |

| ->> I'd use PhotoShelter. Searchable, easy to use, you can FTP or ftp right from Photo Mechanic. Editors can download from it very easily and you can make lightboxes in it for them. You can make the image public or private depending on your needs. I used it last year for shooting Bonnaroo and my editors loved it, very easy. |

->> And... Photoshelter. Easy for you and clients love it, too.
Wish I was doing Long Beach. I'd like to shoot the DP01s one last time and say goodbye to Champ Car. It'll be an interesting weekend. |

| ->> Photoshelter is definitely the ticket. Very fast setup, and lots of ways of providing tiered access to your images. They have a desktop uploader that works great for batch uploading a bunch of images, and the gallery/lightbox functionality works well. |

->> Look into the prices, for multiple user access through photo shelter as the prices were great for single user and I know the company was looking into changing over but the prices advertised was only for single user accounts.
Digital Railroad is an option. in the event you wish to look at other choices. |

->> If your company doesn't want to host the site yourself, add another vote for PhotoShelter. The features of pricing, redundacy, and PhotoQuote make it worth every penny.
If they want to host the site on their own server and have the ability to integrate easily within an existing site, I would recommend ImageFolio (http://www.imagefolio). When we migrated from flash driven galleries to database system IF was the only product out there at the time that was fully IPTC searchable. I've been using it since 2003 and it has been very, very good to me, mahn. |
