someone else pointed out that the dark reflection in his glasses seems totally at odds with the bright background.

->> OK, I guess he's holding a fish at arms length?
It is a cool shot although I've seen many like it and have taken a few myself with coaches talking to or yelling at their teams, with the individual/team reflected in their sunglasses.
Now what would really be neat would be a reflection of the lawyer he shot, reflected in his sunglasses as he pulled the trigger! |

David is a great shooter, but more importantly, a super cool guy.

->> At first glance, I thought it was a naked woman as well. However after close study and a second opinion, I have to agree with Jon Blacker - I believe it's his arm.
I also tried to how he could have his arm reflected in his left eye glass and a profile of a guy smoking a cigar in his right eye glass, when I realized that what I thought was the profile of a guy smoking a cigar is really the outline of his cheek in combination with his arm. (Okay I'm tired).
...and James, the dark reflection in Cheney's glasses is the lake.
Cheers!

http://tinyurl.com/5h2voh
It really does look like naked body on small version, but with bigger one, I guess there's no doubt... Even if someone might like to see him driving around naked girls on fishing boat :), he is unfortunately just holding his hand so, that reflection gives wrong impression :) |

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/news/stories/2008/04/10/CHENEY.html?cxntli...
"It wasn't just the blogosphere. On a Web site called sportsshooter.com, dedicated to sports photography, professionals also did a double take and debated the shot on their message board.
"Naked woman??????? That explains his heart problems!!!" noted photographer Jason Frizzelle of Greenville, N.C.
"Holy crap! Is that what I think it is?" wrote one reader of the blog "A Welsh View."
"At first glance, I thought it was a naked woman as well," wrote Jody Gomez, a photographer from Murrietta, Calif. "However after close study and a second opinion ... I believe it's his arm." Others, including some White House staffers, saw the profile of a man's face and a cigar." |

Also, the story you linked is posted on Drudgereport.com ... and I probably don't have to tell anybody how many hundreds of thousands of hits THAT website gets daily.
That is a lot of potential exposure for a forum with what some folks would consider.... questionable comments. |

Whenever we would hear a coworker say something colorful, we would print the quote out and hang it on the quote wall. Hilarity ensued. You'd be surprised at the things you say. |

->> Couple of weeks ago Jim McNay said in a very good column, "Bottom line: If you know it or not, you're being watched." He was talking to students and new photojournalists about how editors, instructors along with others in the industry that might have work and or opportunities to offer and how they are always watching. Good read; http://www.sportsshooter.com/news/1944
Easy to update that very good column with the fact that everything everyone post on this site (and other sites/Blogs) can in fact be seen and or easily found in a Google/Yahoo etc, etc search by anyone in the world that has Internet access. Quoting Jim McNay, "Bottom line: If you know it or not, you're being watched."
Now for another thought, Fun Pix are now searchable. Now that fact is scary! |

So, if you get a chance, listen to the broadcast and hear me make a total fool out of myself live.

You're reaching celebrity status! Personally I would rather catch you on the news than Paris Hilton. Raise some eyebrows and tell MSNBC the reflection is actually you. Can I have your autograph?
I don't recall the VP smiling much until seeing this photo. At least not a toothy grin. |
