| ->> LOL, I saw that as well. These things don't come about on the used market often! |

| ->> While it is listed under used gear, more specifically, it is listed under collectables. While traditionally when many of us get new gear we nearly tear it out of the box to play with, in this case, for 99k you can get a toy that you keep in the box on your shelf. Kind of like those Star Wars action figures... |

->> Was thinking who would have had this to sell?
Oakley? Heard Jim Jannard owned a couple of these. |

->> Can you use a 2X extender on it?
It's not enough to see the pores on their face...I want to see INSIDE the pores... |

I think the photo is from around 1998.

->> Saw the specs once. I believe it weighs about 36 pounds and is about 36 inches long - but it's been a long time since I saw the specs.
One thread a couple of years ago said that SI owned 2.
I'd love to use it for the summer.
Somewhere I'd heard speculation that a new one was only 75k! |

| ->> I just noticed while watching the "planet earth diaries" at the end of a BBC Planet Earth series that this lens is used several times for their videos, including in some remote regions of Pakistan. I wouldn't want to be the guy who has to hike in with that lens on my back. |
