Printroom.com HELP!

->> For those who use Printroom.com, what am I missing?
Is there a way to rotate vertical images other than selecting them in each gallery and rotating them before you post them? For smaller galleries it is ne big deal but for larger galleries/events, it takes a ton of time. I've asked printroom but have not gotten an answer. I'm sure there is a beeter way than the one I use.
Also, I have not signed up a new membership - I'm not to excited about the changes ... any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ken |

| ->> Do you mean in the manager software? If so, then you can 1) Select All (Ctrl + A) or 2) click the first image and while holding Shift key click the last one. Note that I am talking about PC. |

| ->> In Pro Studio Manager its easy just like Osamu said, but when already uploaded you either have to go in and rotate each and everyone I believe or delete the gallery and reupload. Only had to rotate a few after upload through Pro Studio, and rotated them online. |

| ->> You can also do the same thing in Photoshop. Just Select All like Osamu describe above; right click and choose which way you want to rotate. |

->> Ken: I've never had to rotate an image in Printroom, and I'm thinking it's because I have my camera bodies set to automatically rotate vetical images. I know this affects how they show up in Photoshop (no need to rotate them), and must assume the same is true for Printroom.
As for the changes, I've decided to stick with Printroom. The individualized service, the professional looking flash front page, and my satisfaction with the service over a period of two + years make it hard for me to think about leaving. |

->> Update.
Yes, PSM software on the MAC (I should have explained it more).
I have both my bodies set up to rotate as well, I also have tried rotating in Bridge. Either way, when I upload into PSM they still do not show rotated. I do know how to select all or select some images to rotate. I have figured out that you must rotate before you upload.
Example: I have 500 images in a gallery from a shoot; 250 need rotating (these images are thoughout the gallery, not all together). It takes a long time to scroll through the gallery and select the 250 images and it takes even longer for them to actually rotate. There has to be a better way.
If Printroom would apply a rotate tool on the website for customers to use, none of this would be necessary.
Thanks for all the info. |

->> Ken:
I am a MAC user and shoot with a D2X. One thing that speeds things up is to use image processor in PS to reduce your files BEFORE you put them in PSM. Regardless, some images will need to be rotated. It doesn't take that long as you can select a bunch just like in Bridge and rotate. I have been with Printroom for four years and am quite happy. Once you make a few galleries it will become easier. |

->> I have been a Printroom user for 4 years or so now, and here is my workflow.
I shoot everything in RAW. First step I ingest using Photo Mechanic (PM) and rename the files during the ingest. I then use PM to rotate the files. I select them all and then just hold down CTRL and un-select the file do not need to be rotated and then hit Alt + [ to rotate them. Then I batch convert them to JPG using Canon's DPP software, then create the gallery using the Printroom PSM software, so I am not rotating them there.
I like the recent changes to the Printroom site - I was able to make my printroom page (www.printroom.com/pro/sportsonfilm) look a lot like my new website (www.sportsonfilm.com). |

| ->> Ken, I've had this problem for a while now. All my images are set to automatically rotate and when viewing them in PS or PM they are rotated properly. When I sycronize my galleries for Printroom PSM the verticals do not rotate. If you don't rotate them before uploading they will not rotate on the site. It's a real hassle and I've spent countless time over the phone with Printroom trying to solve the problem. They actually eamiled a fix that worked until a newer version was released and then it was back to the same problem. When you have several thousand images from a triathlon or marathon it is no fun to mess with that. Printroom has been great otherwise, but this issue has about put me over the edge. Good luck and if you find the solution let me know. |

->> Gray,
Like Brett said, I suggest making small files in Photoshop, and let PSM upload them. The upload speed is faster, as Brett said, and also you don't have to deal with the rotation issue. Or does the newest version of PSM mess with that? I actually don't know what the latest is because I am using some old version.

| ->> Osamu, the file size and speed of uploading is not the issue. Once you sycronize the gallery, before the upload process, the vertical images are turned. If you don't rotate them prior to the upload then you will have to do them one at a time. I think this is what Ken is referring to. According to Printroom not everyone has this problem. |

| ->> Ahhh - I understand now. I have automatic rotate turned off on my Mark II N body, but I do recall this happening to me before when I did have it turned on briefly. As it has been said above, the photos appeared rotated in Photo Mechanic, but in PSM they do not. Sorry that I did not understand the question from the start. |

->> Gray,
Yeah, I know the speed of uploading isn't an issue for Ken. I just feel PSM acts unexpectedly in some situations, so I try to do as much as I can before launching it. Setting auto-rotate on in my cameras is another thing.
