->> Great purchase Anantachai!
I love my Photo Mechanic.
The workflow is fairly simple and using the program a few times should help make it smooth for you.
I use it all the time at sporting events, the built in ftp makes it one stop shopping for captioning and moving images.
Most problems with the program can be found on their forums,
http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php
But the one key item to learn is how to do "Code Replacements"
The best feature of PM!!!!
Made better by a couple sportsshooter members who came up with some code extraction scripts,
Mike Stone's code replacement extraction scripts for Photo Mechanic http://stopactionsports.com/extract.php cover MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL and NCAA football
Jason Watson also created his own script for NCAA Men's Basketball at: http://www.jasonowatson.com/code/
Not to veer off topic here, but if there was a sportsshooter Man of the Year,
Mr. Stone would have my vote!
His code replacement tool is awesome, and the flexibility he built into it is simply awesome.
If I ever make it to Dallas, the beer is on me Mike! |

->> I don't know about tutorials, but here's few of my quick tips.
Prepare start list/roaster before and use code replacement. It really makes work much easier and faster. Then it depends how your captions look like, but my are pretty generic, so I prepare this in advance, and PM applies this generic caption to every single photo, when ingesting cards.
After that, I just add name of athlete to each caption using code replacement, and I'm done. And normally I use PM to send photos over ftp too. Nice thing with PM is, that it can simultaneously send photos to different ftp servers in background, while you are still working on rest of photos in foreground. |
