Mark III NEW body

->> Hello all Canon users,
Please before you purchase one of the new MARK III inventory, ask about two things:

The cameras that came out of the Oct 15 shipment have a little blue dot next to the UPC/Bar Code, and start with serial number 546562.

I just purchased a brand NEW Mark III from a highly reputable dealer (I won't give the name) and it had 6,048 clicks on it? And was from the June 17 shipment.
I returned the body before I fired a frame.

Thanks,
Craig

->> I experienced the same exact thing with the purchase of my second 5D body.. I placed a formated CF card into it, reformatted it in the new 5D body, and I had the camera set to continuous frame counting, rather than having the camera reset the count back to zero after inserting a new CF card, and I saw that my first frame was something like IMG_6459.. or so.. Unfortunately because of the situation I was in at the time, I just kept the "new" camera..

However, it appears to be brand new.. clean sensor,..stiff buttons,...not a scratch on it.. go figure..

eh.. oh well..

->> I bought a New Mark III a few months ago and find it to be a big improvement over the Mark IIN. It focuses faster and is simpler to use than their previous cameras. The new batteries are a dream because of they are half the weight of the previous batteries. I never checked the activations but have been very happy with the new camera. I have and use 2 Mark IIN's and 1 MarkII with the MarkIII and plan to upgrade to the Mark III shortly.
