Spaces is cool. Quick look is even cooler.

I noticed that while connected to a wired network it could see another PeeCee on the network and wanted to connect in a way that was different than 10.4.X (sorry I can't be more specific)

Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this ?

->> Its a small thing, but anyone else kinda annoyed at the transparent tool bar along the top of the screen? Everything looks nice with all its brushed aluminum windows and all that, then there is the tool bar that takes the color of whatever the desktop behind it is. It kinda makes it all look funky and ruins the clean look of everything.
Just a weird thing to do imo for a company that is so into aesthetics. |

Not sure how long ago it came out, but I was having issues accessing network drives with PM on Leopard and installed the new version and it fixed the issue. So if you're on Leopard, you may need the new PM to run properly. Its version 4.5.2. |

->> I had some issues initially reformatting my Macbook to the GUID Partition (Partition required by Leopard), using the disk utility on the Leopard DVD. It would not reformat the disk, I kept getting errors. I rebooted using the drive I backed up everything on to prior to the installation then used the disk utility on that drive to reformat the original MacBook disk to the required GUID partition. I do not know why the disk utility worked on the external drive and not the system DVD??
Leopard installed fine once it was formatted properly. All Apps seem to be working properly. Allow yourself enough time to copy all information from your previous system, it took me about an hour to copy everything pack to the new disk.
For those of you who use Getty's GIFT software: It seems to be working fine on my MacBook after the Leopard install, I was able to download captions, tag and edit images. The only thing I did not do was actually transmit, but I have no reason to believe it would not work.

I then installed PSM V3.0 beta but it fails to launch. At the moment, I cannot upload new galleries to my Printroom.com website. Perhaps I am doing something wrong in the install - any help would be appreciated. (I have already contacted Printroom.com via email) |

->> Andrew,
You do NOT need to format your drive to upgrade. You should always make a backup however, as things can go wrong. (It's a machine with moving parts after all ... not even macs are immune to bad things happening.)
One thing to check when you're installing an upgrade is whether you need to install all the foreign languages and printer drivers when you upgrade. These can really eat up drive space. Some people like to do a format and clean install to rid their computers of these things. They can take up about 5 gigs worth of space. |

I was at the Apple store in Arlington (Clarendon) VA today, there were a couple of issues with Leopard at the genuis bar, but in general, the store was a buzz about how good 10.5 is...
Jim...I install everything...from Day 1. I still have the install CD/DVD for OS X Beta. Linux PPC Beta too. It's fun...

I could type in the numbers and hit return and nothing would happen. I had to click on the drop down slider to see the number I entered. Since I'm new to Mac and CS3, I wondered if it was me, the software, or the Leopard. |

Very seldom have I ever had a issues with Apple Software that wasn't corrected quickly (within a day or two) or didn't have an easy work around. Both of my Intel based Machines (Mac Pro and a Macbook Pro 17") will be running 10.5 the day I get the install disc. It's the OS made for that architecture. |

I haven't seen specific issues listed in the sites I go to for that application to show what not fully campatible means. To me that would be a good thing in that people are not listing specific issues for it. I would bet most people here who have it, use it 90% of the time as a PDF reader and that must be working fine. |

->> I just reread my post... no, I don't alway refer to things with "the" in front of them (the Leopard). Like there's actually a cat living in my machine. I have a friend who is older and not the most internet savvy that occasionally refers to THE Google. Always cracks me up.
Anyway, back on track, I just checked it again Delane and like yours, mine seems to have fixed itself tonight after I've had the computer off and restarted it. I'm about to work on the ad some more so maybe I'll get to see if that was all there was to it or if it's a memory cache (or similar) issue. |

->> One more thing, Adobe's site says that Lightroom is not fully certified for Leopard. So far, the only thing I've found that isn't working is the print module (also heard other LR users report this on another board). Not a big deal for me since I never use the print module. And I haven't played with the slideshow or web gallery modules yet to see if everything is working in them, but they at least will open (unlike print).
Import, sorting, tagging, and develop are all working fine though.

->> I have now wish I had waited until a later version to come out before installing Leopard. Just getting the thing installed was a headache. It wanted to erase everything on my hard drive before installing, which I know was not normal, so I'm glad I backed everything up just in case. Then items such as my printer and other various programs were unrecognizable and deleted by the new OS.
While some of the features are cool, I'm having a heck of a time getting the internet to consistently work properly. It simply wont hold a connection to the router we have set up in the house. Airport shows it is connected without problems, but no connection. May have to hit up the cattle call and head to the "genius" bar with the rest of the trouble shooters. My advice: Stay away from Leopard--for now. |

->> Louie, the internet issue is not you alone. There are several threads about that on Apple's site and I've had issues with my Macbook Pro holding an internet connection as well.
My Tiger machine will stay connected without any issue going through the same router and connection my MBP goes through. The Leopard machine (MBP) will drop connections intermittently or will just have problems reaching certain websites. Going to those same problem sites is not a problem on the Tiger machine.
So, it seems to be a Leopard issue and you are not alone as there are a lot of others having the same issues.
If you find an answer, please share it with us.
I will continue to test on the MBP and keep the Mac Pro on Tiger till some updates come. |

| ->> I loaded it last week after my wife was running it on her new machine for a week. Started out great, but, things have started to crop up... literally, my cropping tool would not work in CS3. I had to restart the computer to fix that problem. Photoshop quit working at one point while editing the Packers/Vikings game, restarted and was fine. Ftp would stop in the middle of an upload. reconnected and that was fine. Machine got really slow for a while... I then disabled Time Machine and everything seems to be working fine. I've heard there's a problem with Time Machine and Aperture. I did notice something that I was not able to do in Photo Mechanic, but, it's very minor. The view mode when captioning doesn't work in version 4.4.3.3. I do like it and I am looking forward to it being more stable. |

None of my printers were listed, had to re-install (both Epson). And Roxios' Toast V.7 did not work. Upgraded to V.8 and it worked fine. PS3 has been fine for me, as well as Aperture and LR. Although, LR does have that print module issue. Google earth crashes upon opening, everytime.
