Lightroom or Photo Mechanic on a tablet computer - ?

->> I'm wondering if anyone has used Photo Mechanic and/or Lightroom on a very small tablet-style computer. I'm currently looking at a unit made by Samsung.

It would be used for mainly for ingesting and editing in the field as well as generating HTML web galleries. I'm sure the hardware will support the operation of Photo Mechanic but I'm wondering if it's practical to do so on such a small screen.

Lightroom would be used only to output files that were already color corrected using saved settings from my desktop machine that has a calibrated monitor. My plan would be to sync the Lightroom library from the desktop to the tablet so that if I got a request for a file while out of the office I could just apply my desktop settings, output it and upload it and not worry about judging tones or color on the tablet screen.

If there are any folks with a similar workflow using a tablet please elaborate.

->> Hey Cameron-

I’ve used Photo Mechanic on a Sony UX-180P, which has a 4.5” screen with the same resolution as the Samsung Q1 (see
http://www.sportsshooter.com/news/1699). Performance wise, it worked well but with a 4.5” screen is was difficult to see what I was doing. It wasn’t so much the resolution that was the problem, it was the tiny screen; you should be much better off with the Samsung Q1’s 7-inch LCD. I think you’ll be pretty happy with it.
