CS3 - Bugs worked out?

->> Hi guys.

I'm not the type to run out and upgrade immediately when a product comes out but I'm wondering how Adobe is doing with CS3. How are they doing on patches and fixes and such?

I need to know because we need to upgrade at our studio, we're still on the first CS.

Thanks.

->> cs3 kicks so much butt. it's out of control. especially if you do a lot of RAW processing, and even more so if you have an intel mac.

->> I love my CS3 Extended. I never had any of the issues some people here described. I also use Lightroom and Photo Mechanic pre-CS3 for tagging/quick edit, etc. LR and CS3 are a killer combination that has sped up my workflow. Poor Phil, I wonder how things turned out for him? If you choose not to go to CS3, definitely get CS2.

->> It's been auto-updating itself, and runs smoothly for me on a PowerMac G5--every now and again Bridge will tell me some weird little message about turning off a runtime script to speed performance, but CS3 Extended has been running great for me.

->> David, quite honestly I am probably not getting much to make it that worth while going to Extended v. Regular. Extended just happened to be the version I was able to get my hands on for a stellar deal and it gives me some options that I could later toy with if I wanted to.

All I can say so far is that Extended has not given me any trouble at all and it seems the regular is what's giving some people trouble.

->> I've had the whole suite since day 1 and haven't had a problem yet either computer, both Intel Macs running the latest OS X 10.4. It's super fast and I also love the new RAW processing options and RAW support for the Mark III.

->> I upgraded when it first came out solely to run faster on the Intel Mac. It's fast, what a relief, and is mostly fine now. The only nagging problem I have had is crashing when the computer wakes-up from sleep. That was happening often at first, but has dropped to infrequent now -- only happened once this week, well so far anyway.

I'm a Photo Mechanic user so I can't comment on Bridge, other than launching it once I don't use it.

I have to admit, while I don't shoot raw all that often, it really does great job of it and I would probably do more if not for the space issue.
