->> Pedro,
Also be aware that most agencies and wire services have their own peculiarities when it comes to actually filling in caption fields in digital image files. If you are shooting for someone else, be sure to ask them for any documentation, or, better yet, samples. |

| ->> Andy makes a great point. Many organizations customize their caption info. Thank goodness for Photo Mechanic's ability to save unique IPTC Stationary Pads! |

->> Indeed, Andy offers excellent insight to this. As someone who also works on the design desk, I can assure you that providing accurate (and plenty) of information is essential to a good cutline, even if all the info is not used, it's still important to be thorough. And let me also emphasize something else: SPELLING. Get the names correct. Remember, half right is all wrong.
Add the letters "cq" after each name. It tells the copy editor you have checked and doubled checked the spelling of a name. There is no excuse for misspelled names. It's also a good idea to include ages of people whenever possible. |

| ->> Make sure that you contact the variety of agencies for their particular variations, but I recently was told that their is a national standard for captioning that especially spoke to the Categories and supplemental categories in PS. AP has changed some of their styles so the Stylebook may need to updated, too. |
