->> I've recovered images from a corrupted CF card. All images were shot RAW (CR2).
However, the recovered images have "recovered" as TIFF files. When I open the folder in Photo Mechanic, all the thumbnails appear, but when I open in Photoshop, I get an error message: "TIFF file uses an unsupported compression method".
What's up with that??
Come through for me SS, I need you on this one....

->> I read this post (the one titled "Upgrades, Upgrades, Upgrades") the other day on John Harrington's photo business blog, perhaps it could be of some help:

->> I can’t say that I have a whole lot of experience dealing with corrupt cards (knock on wood), but the latest article on John Harrington’s blog addresses what sounds to be the same issue that you are having.
http://photobusinessforum.blogspot.com/
hope this helps. |

| ->> A RAW file is really a TIFF file saved with more info and using lossless compression. You should be able to open them if you change the extension. |

Used to have the same problem of CR2 files recovering as Tiff's. The solution is upgrade your PhotoRescue. Run the recovery again and bam the CR2's are back.
