Corruption Assistance Please
Robert Caplin, Photographer

->> I've recovered images from a corrupted CF card. All images were shot RAW (CR2).

However, the recovered images have "recovered" as TIFF files. When I open the folder in Photo Mechanic, all the thumbnails appear, but when I open in Photoshop, I get an error message: "TIFF file uses an unsupported compression method".

What's up with that??

Come through for me SS, I need you on this one....

Robert

hope this helps.

->> A RAW file is really a TIFF file saved with more info and using lossless compression. You should be able to open them if you change the extension.

Used to have the same problem of CR2 files recovering as Tiff's. The solution is upgrade your PhotoRescue. Run the recovery again and bam the CR2's are back.
