What Software do I need
Peter Gaby, Photographer

->> Help:

Somehow i've lost the software that came with my Canon 30D - i've been shooting in raw lately, and now I cannot edit any pictures when I open them in PM.

everytime I try and open a picture in PS it says "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document."

I've never had problems opening raw files before - but i'm now getting an issue with opening CR2 files.

I know it's a simple solution, but for the life of me I can not figure it out.

I'm using PS CS

Thanks
Pete

->> yes, my main question would be was there software that came with the 30D that I need to install in order to have Photoshop or Photo Mechanic reconginize CR2 files.

->> Not absolutely sure about Canon raw, but w/ NIkon raw, the Camera Raw that comes as part of Photoshop (CS and CS2, anyway) can open most of the raw format files around. There was just an update for Camera Raw that came down the pipe for CS2 today. It may have been a few days old, but the CS2 autoupdater just caught it today. Check w/ Adobe downloads. Usually, the Camera Raw download updates free.

good luck!

->> You need to look for Camera Raw on the adobe website. It is usually a separate download.
