->> I have a Mark II N and it lets you insert custom prefixes for your file names, however when i do that it replaces my first character with a "_" instead. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Thanks! |

->> Jordan,
I have the exact same problem right now. The three characters I chose originally worked for a while, but then suddenly the first character was replaced with a "_" Even when I go into the menu to set the file name, it still shows the three original characters I picked.
I'm curious to see if anybody has a fix to this problem. |

| ->> It has to do with what RGB color space you're using... I think when you use Adobe RGB it removes the first letter and inserts an underscore. |

| ->> Thomas is right. Whenever you shoot in the Adobe RGB colorspace the first character of your filename will default to an underscore. Nothing you can do about it as far as I know. |

->> If you use Photo Mechanic, create a custom filename template incorporating your prefix and have it ingest and rename all at once.
If you are trying to prefix images created using a certain body it's a bit more complex, but still doable. You'd ingest normally, without renaming, then search for the serial number of the body in the EXIF fields. PM would select the images that match. Then you can set the filename template, and rename the images in one batch.
It's an industry naming standard to use the leading '_' for Adobe RGB, as said above. Why? I dunno. |
