Photoshop Action to record original File name

->> I'm looking for a Photoshop action that will save the original file name into the itcp (or whatever) field in the image file.
We normally rename our images once an event is done, but clients receive them prior to the renaming, and I'd like a way to ID the files by both the original name and the new one.
I posted a message on the NAPP site too....
Anyone have ideas?
Thanks, |

| ->> I do this in photo mechanic - use one of the fields and apply IPTC field to filenamebase. I use the headline field. |

| ->> Bridge will do this. In the batch rename dialog, there is a check box for saving the current filename to metadata. |

->> I don't use PhotoMechanic, and am not familiar with Bridge.
Some help with Bridge please? |

| ->> You can select a photo (or group of photos) and use Batch Rename under the Tools menu. One of the rename options is to preserve the current filename in meta data. You can use Bridge to rename your files with all sorts of variables like date or time shot, sequential numbers or letters, various EXIF data, and you can restore to the preserved file name. |
