"Attached is a document: JD davidvsgoliath 30673.XMP. Load this into PhotoMechanic or Photoshop to fill in header information"
Never had to do this before......how's it done?

| ->> Save the XMP file from the email to desktop. If you are using Photo Mechanic, go to IPTC stationery pad and then click load. Find the XMP file on the desktop and click open. The info will flow into the IPTC field and then close. Now, just add that stationery pad to any photo you edit or save along with other important caption informatioin before sending to the paper. |

In my original post I guess I should have left out the part about PhotoMechanic as I don't have it..... I need to load it in Photoshop and there must be a similarly easy way to do it, but I can't figure it out. |

->> I believe in Photoshop you go into:
File Info>Advanced>Append>Highlight the xmp file you want to import>click ok.
I am not sure if in Bridge there is a way to batch caption and apply imported xmp data...
Most of my experience in this is with Photo Mechanic ... there might be a shortcut.
In Photo Mechanic's caption and stationary pad functions applying and/or change data is very easy. Plus you can do this in batches if needed.
Try the Equipment Q & A feature on your member page to funnel a tech question like this to members that have specified they have knowledge in this area. It is a *very* cool and often overlooked feature that Jason and Grover have incorporated into this website.
Good luck. |
