->> Hey Serafin,
A good place I would recommend would be one of the four corners with a clean piece of glass there you could use a 70-200 or 80-200 f/2.8 or even a 14mm to get a nice wide shot of a hard hit against the glass or if you have longer glass try getting up a little higher and shoot over the glass with a 400mm or so. Good Luck :} |

->> And also, see if you can get to shoot from the penalty boxes, in Philadelphia they have holes there for photographers, and also some teams allow you to actually shoot from the bench among the players.
Enjoy, good luck.

I think that sums up shooting hockey for me! The only thing i would recomend is that you have at least a f/2.8 or faster lens if you are shooting without strobes. You can check out my link from a game i did last Saturday ( http://proamimages.smugmug.com/gallery/1872764 ). The first 9 shots are mine on a 1D MKII with a 70-200/2.8, the last 9 are my partners shot on a Nikon D100 with a 80-200/2.8. i also used during that game a 20mm/2.8 and my 24-70/2.8. |
