->> so i need a gear cart, not a hand cart, but a 4 wheel cart. or really a hand cart that turns into a 4 wheel cart. one i can load up at the truck and push/pull, well have an asst. push/pull, to the shoot location. also one that i can load up and push onto an amtrak train and then just push off again so i don't get left behind.
cases of lites and bags of stands and umbrellas. bags of clams and extras, etc, etc, etc
i found this at b and h and it looks pretty nice, they also have an allterrain model that i like. any other thoughts, models, recomendations? anyone use this one? price is not a problem, under 250 seems to be the right neighborhood.

->> I have a Rock 'n' Roller (R10 I think). It's pretty great. Folds up small. Carries everything. Reasonably priced.
I don't use it in the standard hand-truck configuration, so I have no idea how well it does that. |

->> Peter,
I'm often bringing lots of gear from my SUV into location shoots (city blocks, office buildings, sports venues, etc.) and it's wearing me out! So, I know how you feel.
Just this week I found an excellent cart that I'm going to purchase. It's very versatile...will carry a lot, but will also fold down for storage.
It can be a rolling cart, a dolly and several other configurations. There were 3 sizes featured at a local camera store. Looks perfect.
Check it out at:

->> The Multicart and the Rock-n-Roller are made by the same company.
The way I heard it, they made the Rock-n-Roller and were selling them primarilly to stage companies etc. and were very popular among roadies.
They rebranded as Multicart to broaden their market.
Last year at PhotoExpo here in NY, they offered a pretty good show special: 20% off or something if you bought one at the show.

| ->> I've got a Gleason that I use around the woodshop. It's a true convertible hand truck and holds about 500 pounds I think. Here's a link on Home Depot: http://tinyurl.com/meebu . The nice thing about this one is that it's hinged. They have other ones on the site where you have to yank the cotter pins out, pull the handle out, put it back in for horizontal use and put the pins back in. Too cumbersome in my opinion. One thing that does suck with this one though is getting a flat tire. |

->> I use a multi cart every day at the University of Houston. That is how we move our stuff from shoot to shoot. We don't have a studio. I can fit two light kits three 100 foot extension cords. Two sling bags full of stands and umbrellas, a bag full of grids, barndoors, tape, a camera bag, a background stand, a muslim background, a tripod, six 15 lbs sand bags and softboxes all on the cart. Bungee cords come in real handy.

->> If you'll take Bill's Link and add the 2nd one to your cart, it shows up as $39.99 + $5.00 shipping and handling.
I think we should all order one at that price! |

->> Multicart's ability to serve as a desk after you've transported your gear on site is amazing. This will be a must get next time we order gear!

->> Thomas -- take your tires to a local bike shop and have them put gel in the tires instead of air and you'll be all set on flats.

| ->> I just bought the R8 last week. It works great. Even in the smaller configuration I could fit 3 cases, several sand bags and a large light stand/softbox case. The best thing is that it would still fit in a typical elevator. |
