D2Xs Raw file issues
Robert O'Rourk, Photographer

->> I discovered that Camera Raw ver 3.4 doesn't open D2Xs files last night. They were viewed by Photo Mechanic and Bridge however. Have I done something wrong with Camera Raw? Or do I wait for version 3.5 to include the D2Xs files?

Any other thoughts

->> Robert - my understanding is that the encryption pass is a different one for the D2Xs. Apeture and a bunch of other apps can't open the files until an update is avaliable for it. This includes Camera Raw.

->> You'll have to wait. Same thing happened when the D200 arrived. Adobe had to play catch-up.

->> I spoke with Adobe today and lookedat their download history. Camera Raw is likely to appear sometime in September if Adobe sticks to the past history timeline. There was no official answer from the phone contact

->> Its a bit of a wait with Nikon on this issue unfortunatly. But until an OpenRAW standard is stablished and used we'll see this issues not only now but even if we want to re-process files when the camera and its software can't run on latter hardware.
