Anyone know why Photoshop 7 strips IPTC/metadata info?!?!

->> I use Photoshop as part of my workflow. I caption in Photo Mechanic (I wish the FotoStation people would make an OS X compatible version, it's much easier for captioning), which adds the caption info in all the proper fields and in the proper format, then often batch-process the images through Photoshop to prep them for uploading to my stock agency's server. Photoshop 7 strips all that info right back out. Version 6 and below didn't, but I prefer not to use them since they aren't compatible with OS X. Is there anything I can do about this and is Adobe working on a fix?

->> You're working with JPEGs? What sort of batch processing are you doing in PS?
Photoshop 7 shouldn't do that; at least it doesn't in my experience. All IPTC captions are right where they should be after running a PS7 batch (generally profiling, resizing, levels, USM). |

->> Odd. It seems to be holding it now just fine. Updated PM to 3.1. The one hitch is that though I don't use "Save for Web", I do make use of "Web Photo Gallery" to show stuff to clients, and that apparently strips the IPTC info as well. Wish there was a way to toggle that. Anyone at Adobe listening?
