IPTC Keywords and Categories

->> Need help with figuring out how to define these. I want to use Adobe Bridge so I can batch caption photos. So far I have been able to tag most data, such as copyright, date, location, etc.... However for some reason Bridge will not allow me to enter ANY keywords or categories. Both are locked out and uneditable. The only option is to tag data using either photo mechanic OR doing it on an individual basis through the FILE INFO option in photoshop.
Dont get me wrong, I love photo mechanic, but I find tagging using Bridge to be far more effective and much less prone to mistakes. You see instantly your changes, can edit what types of fields are visible, and the data from previous tags does not carry over. Also it can do pretty powerful searches.
So to make it simple, anyone know how I can select a group of photos and then using Bridge type in a category and apply it to the selected photos.
Also what is the difference between IPTC IIM Legacy and IPTC Core?

| ->> If you go to keywords and right click you get a menu of options to add, remane, delete. For my Adobe Bridge I only have IPTC Core. Have never seen IPTC IIM. |
