Weird stuff happening with my 1D MarkIIN

| ->> This past weekend I was shooting at THE TOUR Championships in Atlanta. I was using a brand new 1D MarkIIN that I had taken out of the box last week to test. I thought it was a little weird when I was having a slight card problem. It turned out that it was because the camera was up to 9999 & it had to make a new folder before continuing on. Well here's the weird part...there was NO WAY I shot 9999 frames. When I dumped my cards on Saturday, the frame I shot at 12:00:39 was #1659 & the next frame shot at 12:02:29 was #9835!!! These were shot 2 minutes apart on the same camera, with the same card! What could have possibly happened? It just doesn't make sense. I just thought I'd mention it here, before going to Canon with it, in case anyone else had this happen. |

| ->> Those numbers are arbitrary and random, your camera is fine. |

| ->> it is NOT normal for the counter to switch like that. Every camera that I've ever had starts at 0001 & continues until 9999 (as long as the camera is set to continuous numbering), at which point it resets. |

->> I thought the camera will start the image number from where the card left off. So if your CF card was up to 9998 then if you put it in the camera and shoot one more photo then you've reached 9999. So maybe it has something to do with the file structure of the card?
Otherwise I assume that the camera is working fine? |

->> Caryn:
Was the card just used in another 1D that had more actuations prior to being put in the new 1D? |

->> Robert-
Nope! It happened in 2 consectutive frames in the MIDDLE of one card that was formatted in camera before shooting. The card had not come out of another camera. The other body I was shooting with at the time was counting in the 5800 range. |

->> Hi Caryn,
Mine was just over 6,000 clicks out of the box? Well, it showed that. Other than that in five weeks now I have had no card problems with it using Lexar and Sandisk cards. Call Canon.
