D2H shutter problem
Eric Thayer, Student/Intern, Photographer

->> This has probably been covered before, but has anyone had issues with the shutter on the D2H? Mine started with a thick white bar across the middle of the image, then it started flashing "Err" and now the shutter doesn't work.

It happened under normal use, I was in the middle of a water polo match.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

->> Eric,
I didn't get the white bar but I did get the Err message about a week ago, twice in three days.

It's at Nikon right now, but I haven't heard anything back from them.

I have two months left on the warranty and after 30K actuations, this was the first sign of trouble with it. Well, other than the rubber coming off the CF door and a corner of the bottom rubber.

->> With any luck, like me, you'll send it in, get the shutter fixed (and the grip on the card door replaced as well as the selector button on the back), a month later, the AF and Meter will die, you'll get that fixed, and the day after you get it back, the whole camera will die!
My shutter never completely died, nor did I get an ERR message, but it was definitely slowing downn, and mis firing at times....
Nikon has seen my D2h more than I have the last 4 months..

At least the people I've talked to have been helpful, and nice (and have paid for shipping), but it's getting frustrating, to say the least!
Sorry for the rant!

good luck with yours!
