Kirk, Dennis and the crew at Camera Bits are doing their usual...listening to customers and making improvements based on our comments....

Adding the Spotlight (Mac ONLY) will be sweet!!!

->> Looks good, I really like some of the things they've added like the Spotlight search and ability to ingest individual folders (assuming this is going to work the way I think it will). I've emailed Camera Bits a a few times in the past asking about functionality upgrades and they've always been very quick to repsond in positive ways. It will be interesting to see how Aperture and PM come together or perhaps collide (and if so which one will come out on top). It sounds like PM might be getting pushed a bit harder now that there's a serious competitor, which will be a good thing in terms of product developement and new features.

->> I relly like Photo Mechanic, but the only complaint I've got is that you can't rearrange the pictures manually and then rename, just like in iView Media Pro. This function comes in very handy whe editing your portfolio of photo stories. I wonder when they will include this function in the program.

->> Richard...have you made that suggesstion to Kirk orver at Camera Bits? I too have had the need to rearrange images the way you mentioned, and I most recently did it using Adobe Bridge, but I'd be all for eliminating Bridge if possible and if PM could do this that's jsut another reason for us to use it.

You can email their support people here: support@camerabits.com or contact them by posting on the Galbraith forum here:

Hope that helps...

->> Speaking to Bob Russell at Camera Bits I also voiced my need for manual rearranging. He said it's been asked for a lot and that they definitely plan to include it at some point, just not sure when.
