->> I've been trying to find the posting of the golf photographer that was carrying way too many cameras. It was posted awhile back with a link to the photo of a guy with about 10 cameras all over him.
Remember it? Anyone know a link?
I've searched and can't find it.
Help,
Thanks

->> Wow!
That guy is prepared!!! I often feel like overkill with three bodies, but man this guy is loaded for the long haul.
Wouldn't he need an assistant to make it across the course without collapsing? |

->> That's just stupid. The logistics of carrying around so much crap have got to get in the way of making good images... |

->> He was shooting the Ryder's Cup golf tourny. Do (would) they assuming it would be the PGA, even credential assistants for photogs? If not, he had to be foolish looking for a reason.
Looks like his name is Alan or Alex Jackson . . . no matter, he's my hero for lugging that much stuff around the course all day.
Jeff S. - he probably had not problem reacting since shit is pretty slippery to begin with - wink -. |

->> I just think of the Budweiser ad campaign, the "Real men of genius" ones.... where the voice over breaks in over the song, saying "Here's to you Mr. (insert description from any of the ads) OVERBURDENED, FREELANCE PHOTOJOURNALIST"
I think I should write the whole Ad, and submit it to the agency that did that camaign!
I'm not sure what's more expensive though..... the repair costs of all that gear banging against itself, or the knee/ hip replacements/ arthroscopic surgeries required every 5 years to survive it.
Back to work!

->> Ahhh, our good friend Alex Jackson or "Christmas Tree" as he's affectionately called around the links.
He's European, and he shoots majors and Ryder Cups. Carries more gear than I've ever seen one person manage. He also keeps enough food with him to feed all the photogs on the course.
Very nice guy and is the only person I've seen take spectators attention AWAY from Tiger!
Picture Keith Richards with camera gear and that's Alex! |

Thanks for finding the photo, Caleb and Jim.
I still can't believe it when I look at it.
And thanks Ryan for the link to a story on the man behind the cameras:

This tops Dennis Hopper in "Apocalypse Now."
Jim, we commit those with 2 personalities in one body. Kind of like a D2X. HA!
He needs a caddy.
Good luck fella. |
