One Minute Career

->> This is what happens when you have a little too much time to think while minding the picture desk.
Lets say that a sportsshooter shoots with an average shutter speed of 1/250th over his entire career. To shoot one second worth of photos that make you happy you obviously have to produce 250 photos. But to have one minute worth of photos you like you would have to shoot 60x250 or 15,000 photos. Now that would be an excellent career and to think you only had to actually work for one minute to attain it.
Of course, don't let you editor in on this little secret or he may try and pay you for only that minute. They tend to be little short sighted about things like travel, set up time, climbing in the rafters of gymnasium's, enduring drenching rain or freezing your tail off. Like I said, it is dangerous what an idle mind can come up with.

Luckily, most of my favorite images are very very long time exposures.

Time waits for no one,

Do you live downwind of Browns Ferry?
Just kidding. I think I'll start using longer shutter speeds.

15,000 photos makes a career? That's barely a season of Football!

->> Mark,
I never thought about the Browns Ferry angle. Maybe the nuclear waste is the real culprit here. By the way, I would love to see Jim's take from a game. If you can get 15,000 frames you love from one season I'll have to crown you the king right now!
