->> My dad shot some photos of the tribute in lights in Manhatten the other day and I posted them on my website.

I've had the print sales portion of the site locked so that they can not be sold but have had numerous request from people who want to purchase prints. Since it was a public showing do I have any problems with selling the prints?? |

->> Seriously, though, The Star-Ledger is selling similar shots on their website from the 2004 tribute, if that's any help.

My thinking is that it is a public display, visible from a public space, and as such, possibly falls into fair game; however, I am not a lawyer, and I don't know which way the wind is blowing this week in regards to such matters, and well, maybe the company that supplied the lights has a TM or SM or ® or © on the display and any images created of the display. Wouldn't surprise me.
Quite honestly, I'm not too sure. I can see it both ways on this. Good luck. Hope it sells well, if it is in fact salable. Nice images. |

| ->> Thanks for the reply. So far no sales on the thongs. I'm probably just going to open the photos up as available and see what happens. |

->> Scott,
Sometimes I think that we overthink some situations. I can think of nothing that would legally prevent you from selling prints of those images.
