Canon 1Ds Acuations???

->> I have looked through the threads and downloaded exif Viewer and I can not find the number of acuations on this camera.
Any help will be great.

It talks about the 1D, but it might work on the 1Ds too. It's worth a try.

->> You must actually look at *two* numbers, then do some math:

Find the line in the EXIF data that reads as below:

Unknown (0093)3,9: 18,Y,XXXXX,0,0,0,65535,65535,0

If Y = 0, then count = XXXXX. But, if Y > 1, then count = ( Y * 65536 ) + XXXXX. (In other words, Y is a "rollover" counter that increments every 65536 shots.)

The EXIF data in question is stored as 16-bit numbers, which means the biggest number possible is 65535.

->> Go here.... shoot a frame.. then use the program from this page and open the jpg file.... it tells ya everything you wanted know.... espoecially the actuation number...

after googling the info you all suggested I read that they only read jpegs. Is that correct. and as for the www.woens.de site.. when I try to download the trial version it brings me to a broken link.

->> Let me revise the last post. I finally was able to download the soens software.. but when I drag a file onto it it says " No valid-or ( native) jpg-file from 1d-series."
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
