1D error Question

->> Ok, Just picked up a used 1d from KEH, its already going back for an inoperable vg dial, but I knowticed another problem, I was shooting an event with it this morning and my shutter noise changed, and my Drive light began flashing.... not thinking much about It I went on shooting because my battery was still showing about half full and I had only shot around 100 photos. So I cut lose on a full 5-6 frame burst in High Drive and the damn thing locks up flashing error, finishes writing the images to the card and comes back on and lets me burst a few times before it does it again. Its like the camera is buffering out, once it clears its buffer it lets me burst again but why is it saying ERR

->> What type of card is it? If the error only occurs during writes I suspect the camera isn't happy with the card-type.

Something to remember is that the 1D is an older body now, and it might not be happy with the largest cards out today unless the firmware is current. Even if it is, the 1D can't use the full diskspace of the new big chips that are out. 2GB is its limit if I remember right. I usually use 1GB chips with mine and reserve the 2GB chip for the 20D.

->> I have this happen on one of my older bodies also..from time to time...it does it all lenses.. so its not related to a specific lens..one thing that might be causing is that Im quickly approaching 100,000 actuations on this body.. could be the shutter is crapping out.. Idont know...im gonna shoot til it blows up!!!! :)
