Jpeg files show strange caption in Iview

->> Help...I've noticed this for a while, but never worried about it. But now I gave files to another photographer to upload to his website and things went a little funny.
If I open files in Photoshop, under File Info, there is nothing there.
However, when imported into Iview, they show a caption. nothing but hundreds of periods (.........).
My friends server told him that is what made the files look strange on his site.
I have gone into Canon's File Viewer Utility, and there is not caption settings.
Where is this ........ coming from?

->> Worth- Just to make sure, you're not talking about the EXIF info that comes from the camera (f/stop, ISO, etc) but the user-editable caption info.

If the later, does Iview have a setting to automatically add caption info during importation? I only use Photo Mechanic so I don't know much about Iview.

Without using Iview or the Canon program (for a test), send the file to your friend and see what happens. That may isolate the problem from the camera or the software. Even better, load the photos, straight from the CF card to another computer and send the file to your friend.

Good luck...
