->> I had someone (raven20301g@yahoo.com) reply to a classified ad here with what I believe to be the cashiers check scam. He (or she) offered to send me a cashiers check for $4500 and asked that I send them the camera (selling for $700) plus $3800 in change.
I didn't think my photo made me look THAT stupid.... |

->> Jim,
What I did once was to follow through but I sent him the name and address (business address) of an agent of my states bureau of investigation (TBI). The idiot actually sent the agent a cashiers check and they ended up prosecuting him with the help of Pennsylvania's bureau. |

->> With the new restrictions in the classifieds to make an add available to be VIEWED by only SS members, I think I'd check that little box. From what my understading is of it, it should hopefully completley eliminate spammers and help to not receive scam offers.
But yes, that person is trying to scam you.

->> Definitely a scam. I actually had one of my ebay auctions end with buy-it-now that way when I was selling '67 Mustang. The 'buyer' is usually from some foreign country...in this case it was India.
Regards,
