Free Mac OS X slideshow program

->> Mac users - If you've used KPT Quickshow in the past and wanted it for OS X, then check out the new version for OS 10.3 - Quickslides.

http://www.tigre-tech.net/quickslides/

This is a pretty cool version that doesn't require you to go to Classic. Just drop the program into a folder and double-click. use the down arrow to advance the show or "A" to automate for 5 second advance. "Q" to quit.

Check it out.

->> Thanks for the link. It might come in handy sometime.

The "Read Me" Disclaimer cracked me up:

"While it's been thoroughly tested, we're not providing any warranty here. It's been tested. It should work fine. But if it crashes your computer, erases your hard drive, eats your children, or renders you sterile, It's Not Our Problem (although if any of those things do happen, we'd probably like to hear about it -- especially if you don't have children yet the program still manages to eat them). By using the software, you agree not to hold us responsible for any disasters that may occur."

->> Bob;

Thanks for the info, I used to use QuickShow LT for years and years. I'm glad there is an OS X version now!

->> Thanks for the Information. I downloaded it and just tried to use it and it reads Quickshow unexpectedly quit. I then downsized all my jpgs to 72dpi but receive the same message.
I also wrote to Tigre-tech to ask their advice but perhaps this is something that one of the SS readers has experienced and solved? Thanks SB

->> Finally got it to work. The old version of Quickshow I used to have faded in and out from one image to the next. This doesn't appear to be included in this version.

->> Sherrllyn, I believe this only works in 10.3.x "Panther". Which really limits the usefulness of sending it out with your portfolios. And its sorta a pain to copy it to the folder you want to viiew. It ran ok for me (on 10.3.7) but I think I'll stick with Photo Mechanic for my slideshows.

->> I have been using OS9.2 until my computer crashed a few weeks ago and I had a new HD installed. I am running OX 10.2.9-and this program is for OX 10.3. All I can find are sites where I have to pay to upgrade-is this the true or am I missing something? (still trying to find my way around my computer)
Thanks
Debbe
