->> I was attempting to drag and drop my selects from the Holliday Bowl into a separate folder last night. All of a sudden a message came up, "Sorry the operartion cannot be completed." Poof, all my selects were gone. They were not in the original folder and they were not in the new folder, they dissapeared.
Anyone else have this happen?

->> Gavin,
You might consider posting this over at Rob Galbraith's site in the photo browser forum. Photo Mechanic's Kirk Baker regularly monitors and responds.

I've also gotten pretty quick response from Bob Russell at Camera Bits.

->> That has happend to me before. I can't recall what I did. I think I just ended up ingesting it again. Try doing a search if you named them. Are you using a mac? If so look inside of your Home folder. You can also post a message in this furom:

Kirk Baker , a developer of PM, is quick to answer questions.
Hope this helps |

->> I know this doesn't help your current situation, but:
I didn't even know you could "drag and drop" photos within Photo Mechanic. If I ever want to move them (from within the program, not using the OS) I highlight them and use "Command/Control Y" and then check the box for Move Photos. I've never had any problems with missing photos in several years of doing it this way. Just an idea for the future... |

->> I have to agree with Kevin on this one. I've abandoned dragging photos from within image browsers years ago because of problems with photos disappearing.
Using the Command Y (Copy Photos) in Photo Mechanic is a more reliable way of moving your edits safely. You can also select your edits and use the Command S (Save Photos) option too.
I have never had one problem using method to date

->> This problem sounds like what has been encountered before...

If you dragged from a window in PM to a folder in the Finder, then the Finder did the move, and you encountered what I think was said to be a bug in the Finder.
You're better off to do the drag entirely within PM, or use the Copy Files command under PM's File menu. |

->> Ya just never know who's lurking out there... this came in on my personal email a few minutes ago...
"I have been following the thread about
PM eating files on drag and drop. I
finally found the bug in the interaction
with the Finder and have fixed it in
version 4.3 (currently in beta) but the
guys on the thread are right, using the
Copy command (Cmd-Y or Ctrl-Y on
Windows) is the best way to copy (or
move) files since drag and drop is not
involved.
It would be great if you could mention
what I have said to you on the
message board since I don't have
posting privileges.
Have a Happy New Year,
